Michael Vanghan convenor of Rainbow Labor NSW discuss the issuing of a statement about civil unions as a stepping stone to gay marriage, but is it a road block?. However John Klopprogge has a different option on the same issue and even the panel get into loggerheads over the issue. Kaye Sera looks underneath her bonnet on how gen y and the baby boomers see issues.

The team then talks to Yarra Council Candidate and owner of the Peel Nightclub Mr Tom McFeely about issues on why he should be elected to the Yarra Council. Barack Obarma was elected the New President of the USA and we have a report from our correspondent Eric Williams he reports from Harlem New York. Also the Mayor for Melbourne heats up and we have Catherine Ng and running mate Mr Terry Makings talk about the issues that concerns them in the massive election for the Mayor of Melbourne And one of Joy’s favourite programs celebrates nearly 3 years that’s 150 episodes on Sunday night with a (well we hope) one off outside broadcast, the Rainbow Report crew talk to the co-hosts from Broadway at Bedtime. Ms Kaye Sera puts her special blue view on the newly elected President Barack Obarma and reflects on the historic victory.

Corey Irlam of the Australian Coalition for Equality is on the phone once again from our Nation’s Capital to report on the Bills going through Parliament. Whilst we are in Canberra Doug and the Team talk to Hank Jongen from Centerlink regarding changes to the Superannuation Laws to allow same sex couples to leave entitlements to their partner upon death. And the Rainbow Report Producer Bianca, pulled of the coup of the year as she managed to obtain the former Victorian Liberal Leader Mr Robert Doyle, he appeared in the Rainbow Report Studio to answer questions from the team as he appears to be heading for victory in the Mayoral stakes in Melbourne. The team discuss what he sees are the main areas of change he would like for the City of Melbourne. Ms Kaye Sera puts her special view on another election - the rapidly approaching ALSO Awards you know the one that honour’s people in our Community.

And with the running of the Melbourne Cup Field of Candidates for the next Mayor of Melbourne we talk to the next unlikely bedfellows as one is from the Liberal side of Politics and the other is from Labor, we get there views on how the city of Melbourne should be run. And Shelly Argent from PFLAG tells us about a new resource they are working on. Ms Kaye Sera returns and she puts her special view on the value of bad man and internet filtering. We start off the program with Scott Abrahams from the Sydney Star Observer as the Melbourne Gay Press has had a rough ride in recent weeks. There has been an application to wind up BNews Pty Ltd, in the Victorian Supreme Court. The Sydney Star Observer has come to the Melbourne Rescue and will expand into the Melbourne market of the Gay Press. And we follow up the report about Michael Cain a gay man from Launceston not able to donate blood he was offended when the Red Cross are continually asking for blood. His case has been on hold for a while however they are back on again and the team get an update. The team then turn to the older Gay & Lesbians in the Community and talk to Jane Kent she is the Community Development worker at the Matrix Guild and was the Project Co-ordinator for the Report – My People – the report was published recently. Corey Irlam gives us an update with the goings on from both Canberra and Spring Street on the relevant pieces of Legislation that are going through. The Coalition once again shifted its position on Gay Law Reform with the remarks from Senator George Brandis. Unfortunately, Ms Kaye Sera had a prior engagement this week - it was another Joy 949 CD launch
